Dumbarton shared the points with Kelty Hearts this evening in a six-goal thriller at the Marbill Coaches Stadium on match day four of the KDM Evolution Trophy League Phase.

Scott Honeyman fired the home side in front after 20-minutes when the ball broke his way from a corner before two quick goals from Kelty, one thanks to Aaron Arnott from the penalty spot and another from Robert Cole just two minutes later, suddenly had the away side in front.

Arnott scored his second penalty on 37 minutes to give the away side a two-goal lead and Sons suddenly had it all do, before the Kelty man turned from hero to villain when his back pass from 20-yards was missed by the goalkeeper and bobbled into the net.

Tony Wallace then brought Dumbarton level before the break after a good move down the right to cap off a memorable first-half.

Sons had the better chances after the break as substitute Dom Docherty hit the post from an indirect free-kick and fellow sub Leighton McIntosh was bundled over in the box before Tony Wallace had a close range header pushed away by the goalkeeper.

The result keeps Dumbarton in a positive position in the league phase in the competition with eight points from four games ahead of final group fixtures with Rangers B and Stenhousemuir.

Sons return to league duty on Saturday when Stranraer visit the Rock.
