A vastly experienced figure in Scottish football Mark, who works as a firefighter away from football, replaced Gregor Buchanan as Dumbarton captain on signing for the club in June 2023.

A serious injury threatened to derail his first season at The Marbill Coaches Stadium, with Mark spending five months sidelined – before returning and playing a key role in helping Sons win promotion back to League 1.

The following season, Vinnie, as he is known, was a virtual ever-present leading the club through one of the most challenging spells in its history, before renewing his deal for a third campaign in the summer of 2025.

Prior to joining Dumbarton, Mark had played for clubs including Queen of the South, Dundee United, Falkirk, Dunfermline Athletic and Alloa Athletic.
