Now Dumbarton’s longest serving player, versatile Blair has been deployed in the heart of the midfield and at left-back across his four seasons as a Dumbarton player.

A composed passer and excellent reader of the game, he started his career at Falkirk – before a move to English Premier League side Swansea City in 2016.

Three seasons in South Wales included loan spells back at the Bairns and at Dunfermline Athletic, before a permanent switch to Stenhousemuir in 2020.

He went on to feature for East Kilbride and East Fife, before joining Dumbarton in the summer of 2022 at the same time as Aron Lynas.

Ryan has since gone on to make more than 100 appearances for the Sons, captaining the club on several occasions, netting six times – including a memorable brace of free-kicks in a 6-2 victory over Spartans in 2024.
