A product of Dumbarton’s youth system, and now living locally, Tony’s first team debut for Dumbarton – and senior debut – came back in July 2010 in a Challenge Cup match with Queen of the South.

Originally a defensive midfielder or right-back, he transitioned into a goalscoring wide-midfielder during the 2011/12 campaign – netting three times as Sons won promotion to the First Division via the playoffs, including goals in both legs of the playoff final victory against Airdrie United.

That form caught the eye of Morton, who paid a fee to take Tony across the Clyde in the summer of 2011.

After two seasons at Cappielow, and two loan spells at Queen’s Park, he joined Lowland League BSC Glasgow in 2014.

Highland League football with Nairn County was next, before spells with East Fife and East Kilbride.

He returned to the SPFL under the man who gave him his senior debut, Jim Chapman, at Annan in 2018 – enjoying a superb season where he scored 13 times from midfield, before moving to Clyde.

A short stint with West of Scotland League Gartcairn was next, before Tony returned to Annan – netting 18 times in 46 appearances during his first season back at Galabank.

He helped the club to an historic promotion in his second season back, before re-joining Dumbarton in the summer of 2023 and repeating the trick. Netting 16 times from midfield.

Tony made his 150th Dumbarton appearance in February 2026.
