Match Report

Dumbarton lost 2-1 against Stirling Albion in their final match of 2025 this afternoon.

Sons had the best chances of the first-half as Leighton McIntosh and Scott Tomlinson came close, but were dealt a sucker punch through Ryan Shanley on the stroke of half-time.

The hosts nearly fell behind further in the early stages of the second period but Corey Thomson was off target on two occasions.

Dumbarton had chances to get back into the game with Scott Tomlinson the architect but couldn’t find the leveller until the 70th minute when Scott Honeyman tucked in Leighton McIntosh’s cross.

The Binos found the winner with 10-minutes to go through Adam Brown who finished well at the back post.

Sons travel to Spartans next weekend in their first match of 2026 next weekend.
