Early goals from skipper Mark Durnan and Scott Honeyman secured a priceless victory against Stranraer in horrendous conditions at The Marbill Coaches Stadium.
Durnan nodded in Alexander Smith’s corner to give us the lead with just two minutes on the clock, with Smith the provider again for Honeyman to make it 2-0 15 minutes later.
There was no further scoring, despite chances at both ends, with Sons indebted to Sonstrust No Limits Brewing Player of the Match Aidan Rice for a string of impressive saves to secure his second consecutive clean sheet.
