We are delighted to confirm that Aron Lynas has agreed to extend his stay at the Rock for the upcoming League 2 season.
Aron joined the club in the summer of 2022 from Albion Rovers and has also had stints with Alloa Athletic, Brechin City, and our Stirlingshire Cup cohorts East Stirlingshire prior to his time with the Sons.
Aron was part of our promotion-winning side in 2023, and we are over the moon that he has agreed to take on the challenge of League 2 with the club again this year.
Able to operate across the backline, Aron will be in competition with new signing Gordon Walker for a starting spot at right back in Stevie Farrell’s side as the boss looks to add depth to his squad after a tumultuous summer.
Aron played 21 times for the club last season, across defence and on the right of midfield, and will look to hit a century of Sons appearances early this season, currently sitting on 99 for the club.
On his contract extension, Aron said: “I’ve loved my time as a Sons player so far, and the connection I’ve got with the fans is something that’s really special to me.
“It’s been a really tough year on and off the pitch for everyone at the club, but I’m delighted to be staying with the club and really looking forward to getting stuck back in.”
