Sonstrust Funding Delivers New Veo Camera for Academy
The Sonstrust have stepped up their support of our Academy sides, funding the installation of a new Veo camera system at The Rock – sponsored by Marbill Coaches.
The AI-powered sports camera provides academy sides and our women’s team with enhanced match recording capabilities, performance analysis tools and detailed data insights, while also offering live streaming functionality.
The introduction of the system represents a significant step forward for the club’s academy programme, providing coaches and players with access to technology used throughout the professional game. It also supports the club’s long-term ambitions within the youth development pathway, with video analysis systems a mandatory requirement for entry into Club Academy Scotland (CAS).
The purchase has been made possible by the Sonstrust’s donation of profits from the matchday programme, SonsView, directly to the club’s youth academy – with the Trust also sponsoring the back of our U20s shirts this season.
DFC Head of Youth Operations Darren McEwan said: “The purchase of the Veo video analysis equipment will prove to be a fantastic coaching tool for academy players and coaches to learn from.
“Not only is it a great benefit to the teams to access this level of technology and insight, but it’s also a mandatory requirement to have such a system for entry into Club Academy Scotland.
“A massive thanks must go to everyone at the Sonstrust and the supporters who purchase the programme, as the introduction of the Veo system will prove to be a great step towards this milestone in the academy’s development.”
Sonstrust Chair David Brownlee commented: “Supporting the club’s young players was a founding principle of the Sonstrust and very much remains so.
“The Trust are therefore delighted to have funded the installation of the camera system for our academy teams. This will be an important facility in helping the already great effort being made to build a strong youth pathway at Dumbarton FC.”
Director of Facilities and Assets at DFC, Jordan Brownlee, added: “This equipment further develops the already impressive media facilities we have at the club and we’re delighted that the Sonstrust have delivered this initiative with funds raised by our supporters for the direct benefit of the club and all of the academy teams who now use the stadium for training and matchdays.
“It’s a great example of everyone working in collaboration to improve the facilities we have at The Rock.”
