KRISTIAN WEBSTER SWINGS BACK INTO THE ROCK

We are pleased to confirm the return of Kristian Webster to The Marbill Coaches Stadium on a permanent deal.

The defender, who can play at right-back, centre-half or in midfield, arrives in G82 after his exit from Rangers at the end of last season, initially signing a deal until January.

Webster, 20, spent the second half of last season with the Sons, playing 16 times, scoring once at home to Cove Rangers in William Hill League 1.

After impressing with the club he spent the summer on trial with Airdrieonians but has chosen to return to the Rock for our return to William Hill League 2 and will be available for our match away to The Spartans this Saturday.

Upon his return Kristian said: “I’m delighted to be back, I’m looking forward to getting back out there in front of the fans and hopefully taking the club back up to League 1.

“It’s been a very different pre-season,. I wasn’t sure what would come next. I was always in contact with the gaffer, he spoke to me at the end of last season and said he would’ve been happy to get me in.

“I really enjoyed playing at right-back last season. As a player though I’ll play anywhere on the park, as long as I’m getting a game.”

Boss Stevie Farrell added: “Kristian was excellent for us last season and it was a pleasure to watch him grow and learn by the week as he took his first steps in the SPFL.

“We didn’t hide our desire to bring him back to the club, and I’m delighted to get a deal over the line. His attitude and application were first class during his loan spell, and we’re looking forward to working with him again this season.”
