All at Dumbarton Football Club are sorry to hear of the passing of life-long Sons fan Barney Kennedy at the age of 88.
Barney was a season ticket holder and, even in his later months, still managed to attend a number of games. His final away game was the playoff final at Spartans in May of last year.
Away from the Sons, Barney was a keen cyclist, played for Dumbarton Academy FPs and was a former President of Dumbarton Bowling Club. He was also an amateur football referee.
Our condolences go to Barney’s daughters Alison and Claire and their families, as well as his many friends.
Barney’s funeral will be held on Tuesday July 22 at Cardross at 11:15am.
