KAI KIRKPATRICK SWITCHES TO SONS
We’re delighted to announce the signing of midfielder Kai Kirkpatrick on a season long loan from Kelty Hearts.
The 22-year-old midfielder was a standout performer for Albion Rovers in the Lowland League last season, before moving to Kelty in June – but will now be a Sons player this season.
A product of East Kilbride’s youth system, he’s spent time with Cumbernauld Colts and St Cadoc’s prior to joining the Wee Rovers last summer – scoring three times in 31 games.
Boss Stevie Farrell said: “Kai is someone I’ve liked for a while, and I’ve seen him a couple of times for Albion Rovers where he’s always impressed.
“He’s very tough, he’s got good energy and he’s very comfortable on the ball as well. We’ve got good options all over the pitch, and that’s important because it’s going to be a tough season.
“I think we’re happy now with our options. We’ve managed the budget well.”
Kai made his debut just hours after paperwork was complete, as a substitute in our matchday one Premier Sports Cup victory against Stirling Albion.
Welcome to Dumbarton, Kai!
