Our women’s side make the trip to Glasgow this afternoon to face Saint Anthony’s at McKenna Park, as Gerry Gallacher and his squad look to secure back-to-back away wins following last week’s impressive 6–1 victory over Clydebank at Holm Park.
As stated, the match will be played at McKenna Park, with kick-off scheduled for 1:30pm.
The two sides last met in November, with the Sons running out 5–1 winners.
Looking ahead to the match, head coach Gerry Gallacher shared his excitement:
“I’m looking forward to this game after such a great team performance last week.
“I’m quite sure the players themselves are determined to continue from where they left off against Clydebank.
“St. Ants are scoring goals and winning games. Combine their good form with a grass pitch—something our Dumbarton girls don’t play on often—and this match could be very tricky for us indeed.”
Gallacher also provided a brief squad update ahead of the match, confirming the return of goalkeeper Kira Swallow between the posts.
“On-form midfielder Sophie Reid is out injured, and a few other players are unfortunately unavailable.”
Meanwhile, our opponents, who sit just above us in the league table, defeated the league’s bottom side Benburb 4–0 last week.
All eyes will be on Dumbarton to see if the side can show consistency in the final stages of the season—and whether Catriona McAllister can add to her incredible tally of 7 goals in her last 2 games to help fire her team up the table as the campaign nears its end.
