Dumbarton returned to winning ways with a 1-0 win at Elgin City this afternoon.

Sons found the breakthrough towards the end of the first period when Tony Wallace met Kalvin Orsi’s cross at the back post.

There were opportunities for a second after the break with the visitors getting themselves in a number of decent areas but failing to find the crucial pass.

The Sons defence stood up resolutely to the Elgin attack towards the end of the game with Cian Newbury impressing once again.

The result sees Dumbarton remain in the play-offs in cinch League Two as they visit Stenhousemuir next weekend.
