Sons continue making waves with new Lomond Radio deal

Local station Lomond Radio have stepped up their support for the Sons this season, by becoming official sponsors of our matchday programme, SonsView.

The Strathleven House-based station was founded in 2020 by pals Alan Caldwell and Paul Lucas and has grown from strength-to-strength ever since. With more than 50 volunteers now supporting its operation – and a packed schedule of shows.

That includes the Lomond Radio Sports Show, presented by SonsPlayer commentators Jordan McKerry and Michael McVey.

Now having taken out an advertising board at The Rock – sponsored by Marbill Coaches last season, Lomond Radio will now sponsor our matchday programme – with regular adverts for Sons matches airing on the station throughout the season in return.

Lomond Radio director Phil Briscoe said: “We’re delighted to step up our support of the Sons again this season. Lomond Radio and Dumbarton FC are both all about community, bringing people together and celebrating what makes our local area great. So it’s the perfect partnership!

“Since 2020 we’ve taken big strides with Lomond Radio now available on DAB across the region and reaching a huge number of households, cars and businesses every month. So it’s great news that we can highlight all the exciting things going on at The Rock to that audience.”

SonsView editor Graeme Robertson added: “Buying a programme is an essential part of the matchday experience for so many people, and thanks to this partnership the Lomond Radio logo will be seen by plenty of supporters – both Sons fans and from our visiting teams.

“With visitors from as far afield as Stranraer and Elgin coming to The Rock, we’re sure the station will be getting some new listeners from across Scotland as a result!”
