Sons and Saints enter strategic partnership

We’re delighted to announce a strategic partnership with West of Scotland League side St Patrick’s FPs.

Our West of Scotland Development League U20s side will play under the St Patrick’s umbrella next season, joining Renton Craigandro and Dumbarton United in having a partnership with DFC.

Head of Youth Operations at DFC, Darren McEwan said: “We’re delighted to be teaming up with St Pat’s as part of a strategic partnership that will benefit young players throughout the area.

“By working in partnership with St Pat’s in this way we can provide opportunities within the respective club’s pathways for local young players, and look to benefit the wider community by promoting participation in the sport.

“This agreement works alongside the club’s existing partnerships with Renton Craigandro and Dumbarton United in providing a development pathway for young players from very young children right through youth football into the club’s respective first teams.”

The partnership comes at an exciting time for both the Sons and the Saints, with work well underway on installing a state-of-the-art new 4G pitch at The Rock – sponsored by Marbill Coaches. While Saints’ WOSFL team prepare for their debut campaign in the West of Scotland League, playing just across the Leven at the newly renovated John Rodgers Park.

Francis Hannaway from St Patrick’s FPs added: “This partnership is great news for young footballers in West Dunbartonshire, providing opportunities to senior, first team football.

“We’re delighted to be entering a partnership with Dumbarton, which we’re sure will only go from strength-to-strength, and are already excited for a new era getting underway for both our historic clubs.”
