SIGNING NEWS: GOALKEEPER IS NEXT TO CHECK IN

Friday 23rd June 2017

DUMBARTON today boosted their goalkeeping ranks with the signing of goalkeeper Scott Gallacher from Hibernian.

The 27-year-old started his career with Rangers and had loan spells from Ibrox to Cowdenbeath, Forfar and Airdrie.

After his release by Rangers, he joined Hearts, where he stayed for two seasons. He then moved on to Alloa and St Mirren before spending the latter part of last season with Hibs.

There is also a little bit of history attached to Scott’s signing.

If he lines up alongside Calum Gallagher and Grant Gallagher for a competitive game, it will be the first time three unrelated players with the same surname (or varied spellings of the same surname) have played together for Sons competitively.

Three unrelated players called Smith – Scott, Ross and Kevin – all played in a friendly against Partick Thistle in 2013.

Welcome to Dumbarton Scott!

You can now sponsor the new signing’s goalie jersey (home or away) for £100, including VAT, per shirt. More details HERE.
