It’s just one month until a team of Dumbarton Legends return to The Rock to take on a squad of Sons Supporters in a fundraising match to celebrate the clubs 150th anniversary.
After a positive response from Dumbarton fans, all shirts in the supporters team and in the dugouts have now been filled but there’s still time to get involved on what should be a memorable day.
The match will be a 2pm kick-off, and there will be a raffle, souvenir programme, bar service in Bar 72 and a buffet. Entry will be via a donation upon arrival.
The match will also be filmed and we thank DTV Commentators Chris McMillan and Fraser Clarke for agreeing to do commentary.
Our raffle is starting to fill up with some exciting prizes including signed DFC merchandise, days out and vouchers. We are grateful to all those who have so far contributed and would always welcome any other personnel or businesses who wish to contribute.
John Sartain, who is organising proceedings, said: “We’re really happy with the way everything is coming together so far. The squad for the all-stars team is looking really good and we’d encourage all Sons fans to come along and see some of their favourite players from the past.
“We’ve started work on the programme and sent out forms to the guys playing for the supporters team so the commentators know a bit more about them.
“The raffle has some great prizes in there but we would always be delighted to add to that so please get in contact with the club.”
The all-stars squad is: Darren Barr, Paddy Boyle, Craig Brittain, Derek Carcary, Iain Chisholm, Stevie Farrell, Andy Graham, Toby King, Gerry McCabe, Stuart MacIver, Graeme McKenzie, Frank McKeown, David McNaught, Ryan McStay, Kenny Meechan, Adam Monaghan, Martin Mooney, Allan Moore, Christian Nade, Eric Phillips, Graeme Ramage, Joe Robertson, Lee Sharp, Hugh Ward, Sam Wardrop and Frazer Wright. Please note that this squad is subject to change depending on players’ commitments.
