Midfielder Owen signed on loan from Premiership champions Celtic in July 2026, making his debut the following day in our our William Hill League 2 season opener against Stirling Albion.

An energetic left-footed midfielder, Owen signed his first professional contract with Celtic two years ago in 2024 and earned himself another two-year deal at Parkhead taking him to 2028. Hartington now heads to The Rock alongside teammate Aidan Rice to build up his first team experience with the Sons.

Last season he featured 22 times for the Hoops’ B team in the Lowland League – earning him the opportunity to make the step up to SPFL football as a Dumbarton player after recently spending time training with Martin O’Neill’s first team squad.
