Michael Doyle joined Dumbarton from League 1 Cove Rangers on deadline day in February 2026, and was appointed Club Captain the following summer.

The vastly experienced full-back, who captained the Aberdeen club, has more than 600 SPFL appearances to his name.

He started his career at Kilmarnock, but made his name with a lengthy spell at Alloa Athletic that included two promotions.

Premiership football with St Johnstone followed, before stints with Morton, Queen of the South, Falkirk, Queen’s Park and Hamilton Accies.

In 2024/25 he didn’t miss a minute of action for Cove Rangers, adding a further 25 appearances the following season – before he made the move closer to his central belt home and signed up at The Rock.

Boss Frank McKeown said: “Michael’s reputation goes before him. He’s been a standout performer in the SPFL throughout his career, and we’re delighted to bring him to the club.

“He’s a leader and someone who comes to Dumbarton with huge experience. He will be a massive asset to the club and I know we will see the best of Michael in a Dumbarton shirt.”
