Dumbarton travel to the capital tomorrow as they face fellow play-off contenders Spartans in a crunch cinch League Two fixture [kick-off 3.00pm].

Sons conceded in added time to lose against East Fife last weekend as they cut the gap in the division but Stevie Farrell’s side remain in the driving seat for a promotion play-off spot.

Spartans, meanwhile, earned a point at league leaders Stenhousemuir as they have now gone three games without a win.

Farrell admits his side should have left Fife with something to show for their efforts last weekend but knows there is no time to feel sorry for themselves.

He said: “We let ourselves down in the final few minutes against East Fife because we should have been able to see the game out and earn a hard-fought point.

“It is set to be a busy end to the season with every point going to be valuable come May.

“Spartans have proved to be a difficult opponent for us this season and with a good manager, talented players and well-drilled squad, it is no surprise to see them where they are.

“We know that on our day we are capable of being successful in any game – but that only happens if we are at our best all over the park.”

In team news, long-term absentees Brett Long and Greig Young remain out. Sean Crighton, Carlo Pignatiello, Kalvin Orsi and David Wilson join them on the sidelines.
