Dumbarton welcome St Mirren B to the Marbill Coaches Stadium this evening for match day one in the KDM Evolution Trophy [kick-off 7:45pm].
Each team will play six matches in the league format of the competition with the top 22 sides moving onto the next round where they were will be joined by the ten Championship clubs.
As well as the young Saints this evening, Hearts B, Rangers B, Kelty Hearts and Stenhousemuir all visit the Rock whilst Sons travel to East Fife to make up the six fixtures.
Boss Stevie Farrell will look to use his squad this evening but there will be no Carrick McEvoy, Thomas Falconer or Theo McCormick for either side as completion rules prevent them playing for either their parent club or loan club when they meet.
He told the clubs website: “We obviously knew it was going to be a busy start to the season with the Premier Sports Cup straight into the league and then the midweek games with this competition.
“It’s a challenge for us to use the squad but we’ve got the players available to make changes and still be competitive.
“We’ve had a great start to the league season and the task is to keep it going and build more momentum.“
Farrell will call Aiden Gilfedder, Derin Marshall and Dean Connor up to the senior squad this evening whilst Dean Rhappozzoh misses out through injury.
Tickets
All supporters should enter through turnstiles 1 and 2 with tickets available to purchase on Fanbase. Pay at the gate will also be available from the ticketing window to the right of the main entrance. Bar 72 will be open from 6:15pm.
