MATCH PREVIEW: DUMBARTON VS PETERHEAD

Dumbarton are back at the Rock tomorrow as they welcome fellow promotion play-off contenders Peterhead to G82 [kick-off 3.00pm].

Sons will be looking to build on last weeks 2-1 victory over Stranraer whilst the visitors will be looking to make it seven games unbeaten – though five of their last six fixtures have been draws.

A win for Dumbarton would move them just one point behind the Blue Toon in the cinch League Two table, with a game in hand, as the two sides look to consolidate their spot in the top-four.

Boss Stevie Farrell was pleased his side finally got what they deserved in last weeks win over Stranraer, though is expecting another difficult contest tomorrow.

Speaking to the clubs website, he said: “I have been on record the last few weeks saying that we should have got more out of certain fixtures but were left with nothing to show for it, but last week we deserved three points and managed to get them.

“We had to show both sides of our game by scoring two good goals in the first-half and then doing the ugly side towards the end of the game and grinding out three points.

“The quality of Peterhead speaks for itself and having defeated us twice this season, we are keen to put that right.

“It will be a bonus to have a couple of new faces in the squad tomorrow and I expect competition for places to ramp up even more in the next few weeks.”

As alluded to by Faz, new signing James Graham is immediately added to the squad whilst Callum Wilson is available for the first time since joining the club in the summer. Mark Durnan is also set to return to training this week ahead of his return. Brett Long and Greig Young remain sidelined and are joined by Kalvin Orsi.

Peterhead have come out on top in both meetings this season with a late Hamish Ritchie goal securing three points back in September. It was another late show at Balmoor at the beginning of January as although Ryan Wallace fired Dumbarton into an early lead, the hosts hit back with three goals in the final ten minutes to earn the victory.
