Dumbarton return to league duty at the Marbill Coaches Stadium tomorrow afternoon for the first time this year with Alloa Athletic making their final trip of the season.
Sons only previously scheduled league fixture in 2025 at the Rock was postponed on January 11 with cup duty and away games making up the rest of the month.
The visitors will be looking to rcord their first win in G82 this season at the third attempt after the teams drew 3-3 back in August before Dumbarton ran out 3-2 winners in a Scottish Cup tie in November.
Boss Stevie Farrell was pleased with elements of the performance last week despite a 3-1 defeat to Queen of the South in Dumfries and hopes the home support can make a difference.
Speaking to the clubs website, he said: “There were positives to take out of the game last weekend but ultimately we have switched off on or made the wrong decision on too many occasions and it has cost us.
“Starting the game properly is something we are really keen to improve on – there have been too many occasions in recent weeks where we have conceded a goal in the opening minutes of either-half and it’s an uphill battle from there.
“The games against Alloa this season have been incredibly tight, as well as very entertaining for the neutral, and we know tomorrow is going to be another close encounter.
“It’s two sides who look to get the ball down and play, and we know if we can remain focused for 90-minutes and cut out the silly mistakes then we give ourselves every chance of a positive result.”
Brett Long, Tony Wallace and Matthew Shiels remain out of tomorrow’s game though David Wilson is set to return.
