Dumbarton make the journey to Galabank for the final time this season tomorrow afternoon as Annan Athletic await for a League One fixture.
Sons will be looking to record their first win of the season over the Dumfries & Galloway outfit as they look to cut the gap at the foot of the table.
Stevie Farrell’s side registered a well-earned point against Alloa Athletic last weekend whilst tomorrow’s opponents picked up a 3-1 victory against Kelty Hearts.
In head to head fixtures between the sides this season, ten-man Sons were unlucky not to earn a point against Annan back in September before the Galabankies ran out comfortable winners at the Rock in December.
Faz believes his side could have earned all three points against the Wasps last week but admits he can’t fault their effort and application in recent months.
Speaking to the clubs website, he said: “We started the game really brightly last week and we could have found ourselves a couple up at the break had we taken a bit more care in the final third.
“After that it was obviously disappointing to concede early again in the second-half and we had Paddy to thank for a couple of important saves before we could have then won it again ourselves.
“I can’t speak highly enough of this group of players for dealing with everything they are having to deal with, both on and off the park on a weekly basis, and I know they aren’t far away from getting what they deserve.
“We deserved more last time we travelled to Galabank but on the flip side got what we deserved in the return fixture so we know we to be at it to take anything or we can get hurt.
“Training has been excellent once again this week with everyone continuing to give their all for this football club, and there’s no danger of that stopping any time soon.”
In team news, Matty Shiels and Brett Long remain the only two absentees.
