Canadian midfielder Josiah Sowa is boss Frank McKeown’s latest addition for the new season, joining on a season long loan from Championship side Queen’s Park.
The 19-year-old attacker joined the Spiders from North Toronto Nitros in 2024, and has featured 10 times for Sean Crighton’s side – as well as playing a key role in helping the Glasgow club’s B team to lift the Reserve League title.
Last season he spent time on loan at our William Hill League 2 rivals Annan Athletic, where he caught the eye against Sons.
Boss Frank McKeown said: “Josiah is an exciting player who will get fans on their feet, and he’s someone we’re delighted to have onboard after causing us problems last season. He’s very quick and aggressive in his play and can play a number of positions.
“We’re really pleased with how the squad is shaping up but we know where we needed to add, and recruiting another player like Josiah has been high on my list.
“He’s someone that Queen’s Park have high hopes for, and I’m looking forward to seeing him in action for us. Our thanks go to Sean and Queen’s Park for their support getting the deal over the line.”
Josiah goes straight into the squad for today’s Premier Sports Cup clash with East Kilbride.
