Three members of the of our women’s set up at The Rock – Sponsored by Marbill coaches enjoyed a successful weekend away from the football pitch, with Kayla Muir and twins Islay and Skye Lavery competing in a different type of competitive action on Sunday.
The trio represented their club at the United Kingdom Taekwon-Do Council (UKTC) UK Championships, with all three returning home with medals following an impressive day of competition.
Skye Lavery enjoyed a particularly memorable championship, being crowned British Champion in Special Technique after producing a winning performance in the discipline.
There was further success for the Lavery twins, with both Skye and her twin sister Islay – who features within our pathway – finishing as Overall Vice Champions in their respective competition.
Kayla Muir also secured a podium finish, taking home a bronze medal following her performances throughout the championships.
The achievements came on a busy day for the trio, with Dumbarton Women also beginning their league campaign against Gleniffer Thistle at Mountblow.
While their footballing teammates were taking to the pitch in the league opener, Muir and the Lavery sisters were representing Dumbarton in a different sporting arena, showcasing the commitment and dedication they continue to demonstrate across both football and Taekwon-Do.
Everyone at the club would like to congratulate Kayla, Skye and Islay on their fantastic achievements and wish them continued success in both their footballing and Taekwon-Do journeys
