We are delighted to confirm the signing of defender Derin Marshall to our Under 20’s side.
Marshall, a left sided defender joined the side ahead of their friendly match against Partick Thistle Under 20’s at Petershill Park this evening.
The 18-year-old joins from Motherwell where he had been on a full-time professional contract.
Initially joining up with Jordan Woodford and Daryl Smith’s Lowland Development League side it is hoped Marshall can prove himself at that level and push towards a spot in Stevie Farrell’s first team.
Speaking to the club, assistant Smith said: “Last week we’d found out that he was available, got him in Friday night and he’d done excellent.
“Gordon [Scanlan] got the link between ourselves and the first team.
“Gordon had said straight away that he can see the potential there and we’re delighted to have him on board.
“He’s obviously came from a great level. Everybody talks about Motherwell’s youth system and how well they’re doing and coming to us is a great addition for us.
“He can play left-centre-back, he can play left-back, he can play either or, very versatile and a great addition.”
