Tomorrow will see our women’s side travel to Bishopbriggs to take on West Park United at Huntershill Sports Hub in the SWFL West [kick-off 2:15pm]
It will be the second meeting between the two sides this season with Dumbarton running out 5-2 winners on the opening day of the season at Mountblow in September.
Both Eva McInnes and Gemma Smith grabbed doubles with Olivia Oliver also netting for the home side, winning their debut league match in official club colours.
With no game last week, the team’s last fixture was the 4-0 defeat to table-topping Bishopton two weeks ago and they have been working hard in training to get a positive result this time out and do the double over their opponents.
West Park were also defeated in their previous fixture, going down 2-0 at home to Gleniffer Thistle.
Head coach Gerry Gallacher believes his side have put the disappointing result behind them and are focused on having a good away day victory this afternoon.
Speaking to the club website he said: “For our trip to West Park there are a couple of key players unavailable, a couple others with niggling injuries etc.
“However, the players have trained well this week and are keen to bounce back after last week’s defeat to league leaders Bishopton”
The side are missing Sophie Reid, Gemma Russell, Hannah McGhee, and goalie Catriona Smith for the game. Also unavailable is Oliva Oliver who scored in the previous fixture against West Park.
