Tomorrow sees our women’s side back in action for the first time in three weeks as they host Gleniffer Thistle, who sit one place behind the side in the SWFL West table.
The match will be at Our Lady & St. Patrick’s High School with a 2.00pm kick off with all spectators encouraged to come along.
The teams last met all the way back in November at Seedhill Playing Fields with Dumbarton edging the match out as 3-2 victors.
The team’s last match was their excellent 6-3 win over Rossvale in which Catriona McAllister scored four goals for Gerry Gallacher’s side and will be looking to build on that victory with another in this match.
Meanwhile, Gleniffer put plenty past Clydebank at Holm Park in a 12-1 away win for Thistle as they showed the attacking talent that they possess.
Previewing the match Pheobe Park said: “We had a tough game against Rossvale but getting the win was great.
“It made everybody a lot happier and it’s boosted confidence a bit, so I think it’s really good.
“Now we just need to keep momentum going in this game.”
Meanwhile, Head Coach Gerry Gallacher is having to deal with several regular starters missing out ahead of the match.
He said: “Having a big squad at DFC is great.
“With a number of players unavailable for today, it’s time for some to step up to the plate.
Gleniffer are on a good run of form over last 3 matches, unbeaten with plenty of goals scored and their confidence will obviously be high going into this game.
“This will be a good test for the team at such a crucial time in the season”
Gerry’s side are missing Mya Logan, Gemma Russell, Sophie Dempster, Captain Eva McInnes and Catriona McAllister, who bagged four goals in the sides previous fixture.
All supporters are welcome to come down and support the side as they return to home action.
