SONS DRAW AT STENNY

DUMBARTON have drawn 1-1 away to Stenhousemuir today, letting two points slip in late drama.

A promising start was made to the game, with a Ryan Wallace free kick striking the crossbar in the 11th minute, just after Gregg Wylde had shot narrowly over.

Things grew scrappy and the first half looked set to end goalless until Ally Love continued his good run of goalscoring of late, tapping home from close range right on half time.

The second half saw Love send in another shot which went narrowly over before a spell of sustained pressure by the home side, but the defence stood steady.

However, in the third minute of injury time, Matty Yates equalised for Stenny, who had massively dominated the second half.

No damage has been done to Sons’ four-point lead at the top of the table, with Stirling Albion also drawing 1-1 away to East Fife.

Dumbarton are back home next Saturday to play Annan Athletic.
