Dumbarton’s 2024/25 campaign ended this afternoon with a narrow 2-1 loss against Stenhousemuir.
Matthew Aitken prodded the hosts in front in the opening 10-minutes with Sons close to responding through James Hilton.
After the break, Matty Shiels got the final touch from Mark Durnan’s header to bring the visitors level.
Sons were only on level terms for a few minutes before Blair Alston put the Warriors back in front.
Dumbarton pushed for another equaliser and played the closing stages with a man advantage after Kinlay Bilham was dismissed for lashing out at Joel Mumbongo.
Dumbarton’s fate of League Two football had already been confirmed ahead of this afternoon as planning for next season is set to begin in the coming days and weeks.
