Kenny McInnes looks ahead to women’s final home match before move to the Rock
Women’s team manager Kenny McInnes has spoken ahead of tomorrow’s penultimate match of the SWFL Central-West season and the final home match for the ladies at Mountblow before their summer move to the Rock – sponsored by Marbill Coaches.
They will welcome Carron Ladies to Dalmuir as they look to put last Sunday’s defeat to Bishopton behind them.
Dumbarton ran out 6-1 winners at Little Kerse earlier in the season and will look to do the double over the league’s bottom side.
McInnes’s side can secure a top eight finish with a victory and remain on the tailcoats of Alloa Athletic in seventh place.
Speaking ahead of the game he said he was looking forward to the match and reflected on some comments from last weekend’s opponents.
“We’re looking for another strong performance this weekend,” he said.
“We’ve enjoyed a good run of form since the turn of the year and although we were all disappointed with the second half against Bishopton last weekend there were a lot of positives for us all to take from it.
“It was interesting to read some other’s narrative on that particular contest but we know we’ve got a talented young squad at the club and with the fantastic news about the stadium in the last few days, we’re all very encouraged about the potential for this team.”
He also confirmed a few injury doubts but was pleased to confirm that there would be another debut for another graduate of our women and girls pathway into the first team.
“A few knocks from last week that we’ll keep an eye on but very pleased to bring Alice English to the club and she will make her debut tomorrow.”
Kick off is at 2.15pm at Mountblow.
