All at Dumbarton Football Club are sorry to hear the passing of Jake McShannon.
A native of Southend, Campbeltown, Jake made the lengthy journey to matches – home and away – with son Alan, and was a popular and well-kent face in the home end at The Rock, and at grounds across the country.
Jake and Alan were recognised for the thousands of miles they clocked up every season making the journey from Kintyre by being chosen to open our 150th Anniversary Exhibition at Dumbarton Library back in 2022 (pictured above).
Jake’s funeral will take place on Monday, 6 July, at 1pm in Southend Church, and thereafter to Keil Cemetery. To which all family and friends are invited. Family flowers only.
A retiral collection will be held in aid of the South End Highland Games and Dunaverty Hall, Southend.
Our thoughts are with Jake’s sons Peter and Alan, and his loved ones at this sad time.
