Our women’s team continued their relentless start to the season on Sunday with another convincing victory.

Gerry Gallacher’s side faced Harmony Row in a friendly match during a free week for the side, with the Daughters of the Rock winning 7-0 away at Alex Ferguson Park.

Despite a squad of only thirteen being available for the match the ladies started strongly and opened the scoring inside the opening ten minutes.

Starting out from the back with goalkeeper Kira Swallow, the ball was played out left to Lucia Sereno, she played the ball down the line for Gemma Russell; the striker delivered to Neamh MacNeil who tucked home the opener.

The second also came down the left, good work from captain Eva McInnes to get past the full back before she found Alisha Biggerstaff who cooly finished the ball high into the postage stamp.

The advantage would double before the half hour mark, with Russell tapping home from a McInnes cutback after the skipper was played in by Biggerstaff to beat the offside trap before MacNeil would double her own tally, finishing another McInnes cutback after good play from Mya Logan.

McInnes herself would get a quickfire double on the hour mark to take the team’s lead to six, before Russell nabbed her second with a chip over the goalkeeper to complete a magnificent 7-0 win.

The girls have a free week next week before another friendly with SWFL South side Giffnock on the 7^th of September. The side’s last workout before their crunch tie against last season’s SWFL West champions Bishopton the following week in the ScottishPower Regional League Cup Group Stage.
