DEFENDER Andy Dowie has been appointed as Dumbarton’s new first team captain, manager Stevie Aitken has confirmed today.
The 34-year-old centre half signed from Queen of the South last month and takes over the armband from Darren Barr, who has joined Morton.
Stevie said: “During pre-season Andy has shown his organisational and vocal strengths and I have no hesitation in making him our new captain.
“With his experience, he is the right man to take the armband and be a leader figure for our squad. We have the right man for the job and I congratulate him on his new role with us.”
