Craig Morrison

It is with great sadness that we share the news that Craig Morrison passed away over the weekend.

Craig and Quantuma colleague Ian Wright were appointed as joint-administrators of the club in November 2024, and both worked tirelessly to ensure that a new owner could be found, placing the club on its most secure financial footing for a generation.

Some of you will have followed Craig’s journey after his mesothelioma diagnosis last year — a diagnosis he faced with a courage and openness that moved and inspired everyone who knew him. Through his monthly LinkedIn updates, Craig shared his treatment with honesty and warmth, and his positivity in the face of such difficult circumstances touched many people.

Craig was also deeply committed to helping others. His fundraising efforts raised significant sums for Clydeside Action on Asbestos, a cause he championed with characteristic dedication.

Cameron Watson, Executive Director at DFC said: “All of us at Dumbarton Football Club send our condolences to Craig’s family and friends at such a difficult time.

“It is no exaggeration to say that without the efforts of Craig and his colleague Ian Wright there would very likely no longer be a Dumbarton Football Club. He went above and beyond to ensure that there was a positive outcome for the club, and for that we will be forever grateful.”

Our thoughts and deepest condolences are with Craig’s family, friends, and all those who had the privilege of knowing and working with him. He will be greatly missed.
