Baby Loss Retreat partner with DFC

Dumbarton Football Club is proud to announce a new partnership with Glasgow-based charity Baby Loss Retreat.

The new agreement will see the club provide 20 general access league tickets for the charity throughout the season, while Baby Loss Retreat will identify families who could benefit from our Pass it On campaign – and sponsor their access for the season.

Founded in 2018 by Julie and Bryan Morrison in loving memory of their daughter Erin, who was stillborn in 2003 at 37 weeks.

After experiencing the heartbreak of losing their baby and being part of the ashes scandal in Scotland, Julie and Bryan felt a strong desire to support others going through similar pain. Setting out to create a space where bereaved parents could find comfort, understanding, and healing.

They have two free to use retreats in Scotland, allowing families time to reflect and spend time together, as well as offering counselling free of charge to bereaved parents across the country. Providing a peaceful and supportive environment for couples to reflect, reconnect, and process their grief at their own pace.

Baby Loss Retreat co-founder Bryan Morrison said: “We’re incredibly proud to be partnering with Dumbarton Football Club. From our very first conversations, we could see the fantastic community spirit that runs throughout the club, and we immediately recognised an opportunity for siblings affected by baby loss to benefit from the Pass It On campaign.

“The club’s generous offer of 20 free match tickets will also allow us to give something back to families within the baby loss community, creating special moments together at a time when they are needed most.

“We’re really excited about this partnership and look forward to working together throughout the season to make a positive difference in our community.”

Dumbarton FC Associate Director for Commercial Jamie Moses added: “As a club with community at the heart of everything that we do, this is an incredibly important partnership and something that the club is proud to be part of.

“Experiencing the loss of a baby is one of the most heartbreaking things that any family can face, and organisations like Baby Loss Retreat are invaluable in providing support in such dark times. Julie and Bryan’s work in memory of Erin is inspirational and it means a lot that we will have the opportunity, as a club, to further enhance that.”
