Forward Deryn was boss
Frank McKeown’s first signing of the summer 2026 transfer window – signing a one year deal after impressing for playoff chasing Stranraer.
He started his career in the
West of Scotland League, first with Royal Albert and then Lanark United. His prolific form caught the eye of
Stranraer, where Deryn went on to score 25 times in 108 games – becoming a cult hero at Stair Park after
commentary of him scoring went viral.
After completing the deal, b
oss Frank McKeown said: “Like most other managers, I thought Deryn would’ve been staying where he was, so I was surprised to hear that he was leaving. It was clear he had lots of interest. He is a player who has always caught my eye for his workrate and pace up the top end of the pitch, so I’m delighted that we’ve managed to secure his services.”
