A 27-player squad has been named for Scotland’s U-16 training camp at Lesser Hampden next month, including two players from the Sons Youth Academy.
The list of 1999 born players is drawn from clubs all over the country with Dumbarton defender Dylan Young being joined by his striking team-mate David Connolly for the session.
Both lads play for Dumbarton’s under-15 youth side.
Scot Gemmill, the SFA’s International Youth Team Coach will supervise the session where the Sons boys will be looking to impress.
And youth coach Craig Straton is delighted at the chance his two squad members are getting.
He said: “All the YDI coaching staff were delighted to hear the fantastic news of Dylan and David’s call up.
“Dylan has been in our programme for a number of seasons has shown that hard work willingness to learn and dedication does not go unnoticed and since arriving at the club in the summer David game has come on leaps and bounds.
“Both are now fulfilling some of the potential they have.
“I and the other coaches are delighted that they have received this recognition and wish them every success.”
The call-up comes on the back of Mikey Hopkins also being selected earlier this season fior the Scottish Schools under-18 side.
