YOUTH PLAYERS BACK IN THE FOLD

Sunday 14th August 2016

SONS Head of Youth Tony McNally confirmed that two players from last season’s 17s squad have re-joined the club on amateur terms and have been put out on loan.

Kyle Prior and Cameron Hambleton, both rated highly by Tony, will be playing for junior clubs Vale of Clyde and Irvine Victoria respectfully.

Tony said “Vale Of Clyde have been delighted with Kyle, saying he’s played a key part in the games they have played already by creating goals and causing teams problems.

“They see him only getting better and developing.

“We have spoken to them about the reasons he needs to go out on loan and they are going to work with him on various areas we have discussed.

“And the same applies with Cameron Hambleton.

“The Irvine Vics manager also said that is difficult to believe how young he is such is the maturity levels he has.”

Tony has now established a pathway for players at the club that are good enough to go beyond the 17s as he mentioned earlier this month.

“It’s important that our lads know that there is still a route to first team football at Dumbarton and we are determined to provide it.”
