WITH no first team action this coming weekend, the footballing spotlight will shine on our youth and development squads, with all five teams in action.

Our Club Academy Scotland teams play Clyde on Sunday (7th) and the under-14s start the football feast at 11am. Venue is Broadwood Stadium in Cumbernauld.

At 1pm, also at Broadwood, the 17s face the Bully Wee, meanwhile at Argyle Parks in Alexandria, the 13s and 15s both have 2pm kick-offs.

Head of Youth Tony Gervaise said : “As we reported last week, progress for our CAS teams has been smooth and steady.

“Last Sunday the 15s defeated Partick Thistle and the 14s and 17s managed decent performances in drawn matches also against the Jags and our youngest squad at 13s lost out narrowly.

“The boys alongside our excellent and dedicated coaching staff are working very hard indeed and I’m very pleased with how things are going so far.”

Sons under-20s squad, who started their SPFL Development (West) league campaign earlier this week, entertain Morton at Murray Park on Monday 8th September.

Coach Colin Nish will be hoping to build on what was a strong second half showing against Queens Park and if any Sons fan is looking to along, entry is free and kick-off is 8pm.
