The TSB U-18 Scottish Schools squad to represent Scotland for this season’s coveted Centenary Shield campaign has been unveiled.
And joining up with the cream of the nation’s young footballing talent will be Sons’ very own Mikey Hopkins.
Mikey who attends St. Peter the Apostle High School in Clydebank is part of our 17s development squad at the Bet Butler Stadium and has on ocassion turned out for the 19s team.
Sons youth coach and first team scout Richard Salvetta commented: “Congratulations go to Mikey from all at the Club
“Although he’s still eligible to play under 17s, to be included in the final Scottish Schools under-18 international squad for the upcoming centenary shield games against Northern Ireland, Wales, England and the Republic of Ireland is a real honour.”
The games will take place in March and April.
On Thursday 30th January the squad will travel to St Andrews to meet a club who regularly assist the SSFA.
