TEENAGE Dundee United defender Adam Hutchinson has joined Dumbarton on loan until the end of the season, with paperwork completed on the deal today.

Adam, who turns 19 next month, spent the first part of the current season on loan at Stirling University in the Lowland League.

He has been part of the academy at Tannadice since he was 10 years old and turned professional in 2019.

Unfortunately, Adam will be unable to make his debut in tomorrow’s Scottish Cup tie against Dundee, as he has already played for Stirling University in this season’s competition.

But he is set to be part of the squad for next week’s return to League One action against Cove Rangers.

Manager Stevie Farrell said: “Adam is very highly rated at Dundee United and performed very well on loan at Stirling University.

“We’re glad to be trusted with helping him on the next stage of his development as a player and we’re confident we’ll see good things from him.”

Welcome to Dumbarton Adam!
