DUMBARTON have completed a deal for teenage left back Sam Muir following his release by Motherwell.
Sam, who turned 19 on Saturday, has celebrated his birthday by signing a contract at our stadium this morning.
He was on loan to Gretna 2008 during a truncated Lowland League campaign last season, and played eight games, scoring once against Dalbeattie Star in what proved to be his final game with Gretna.
Despite impressing at Raydale Park, he was released by Motherwell at the end of the season and manager Stevie Farrell has now moved to snap him up.
The gaffer said: “Sam was unfortunate with what happened to last season’s Lowland League and didn’t get to play as much as was hoped for.
“But he has a lot to offer and gives us another option at left back. We’re glad to have him with us.”
