AS part of Dumbarton FC’s commitment to engage with football in the local community, Michael Carr, the goalkeeper for Dumbarton United, has joined in with a couple of Dumbarton FC’s training sessions.
Goalkeeping coach Robert Glen put Michael through his paces alongside the club’s signed goalkeepers, and felt that the experience was beneficial all round.
Robert said: “It’s great to have Michael in training with us. He came along at the start of pre-season and he did well.
“We’ve invited him back in on a couple of training nights and that allows us to see how he’s progressing. Michael is still a young lad, only just turning 16, and it’s very early in his goalkeeping career, but he’s shown great enthusiasm and potential to improve.
“It’s a great opportunity for him to experience a professional first team football environment, and hopefully he can take what he learns from us, and put that into practice in his games.”
