YDI ROUND-UP

Thursday 11th October 2012

LAST weekend all four age groups from our YDI gained positive results allied to excellent performances.

The under-13s and15s both won away at Cowdenbeath with the under-14s and 17s both overcame Clyde at Broadwood.

Jim Chapman was a happy man when we caught up with him at training on Tuesday.

He said: “This typifies how things change from week to week with regards to the final results but we will always emphasise that it is the performance that is most important.

“Although it is always nice to get a positive result, all youth players are well aware of the standards that they have set and what we require and it is very pleasing to see them all aspire to reach their maximum level.”

And as a postscript to the players ongoing development, Jim was delighted to talk about players stepping up from the 17s to play for Sons reserves in recent weeks.

He continued: “Against Annan this week Joe Coleman (pictured) and Al McKerracher started the game with both making contributions in goals scored.

“And in the second half Chris Martin, Michael Hopkins and Andrew Keir all featured.

“The lads are responding well and I’m delighted for them.”

This Sunday the 13s, 15s and 17s will be in action with the under-14s having a free-week.

Details of where each game will take place can be found by clicking through to the youth development section of this website and accessing the News Page.
