YDI RACE NIGHT RAISES £3K

Monday 24th March 2014

A race night organised by Dumbarton’s YDI team, has raised £3000 following a successful evening at the Bet Butler Stadium last Saturday.

The event was supported by parents and players from all our Club Academy Scotland teams and the high turnout — over 150 people — pleased Tony Gervaise, head of youth at DFC.

When we caught up with Tony earlier today, he was keen to thank everyone who helped organise the night.

He said: “It was a tremendous evening’s entertainment. Everyone who was there had a good time and we raised a tidy sum for all our YDI teams.

“I’d like to record my appreciation on behalf of the club who made the night possible.

“Our host for the evening was Steve McAneny who did a great job. Steve is a director at Clydebank FC and we are grateful for him coming along and lending his expertise.

“We had great fun and Stevie’s take on the TV show Deal Or No Deal was quality stuff.

“I’d like to thank all the youth coaches too for selling tickets and making sure that everything went smoothly.

“Finally, a huge thanks to everyone who bought a ticket, made a donation, bought a horse, sponsored a race and generally helped make the night the success it undoubtedly was.”
