YDI FRIENDLIES ARRANGED

Monday 30th July 2012

THE new season for our youth development teams is just around the corner and on preparation for the campaign, Sons youth director Jim Chapman has arranged a friendly match against Morton across all age ranges.

Dumbarton will have four teams competing in the season ahead and our friend from the Tail o’ The Bank will provide much needed action before the ‘real’ stuff begins.

Scott Douglas will take his Under-13s to Hermitage Academy on 5th August to play the Greenock lads with a kick-off time of 12pm.

At the same venue at 2pm Stewart Maule’s 15s will be next up.

Travelling to Inverclyde Academy, Sons Under-14s coached by John Campbell will have a 10am kick off and at 12pm our new 16/17s team guided by Richard Salvetta will face Morton.

Chapman, whose close season has been amongst the busiest of his career, commented.

“It’s been a hectic few month, but everyone involved with the YDI has been working hard given that we now have an increased number of teams and a reduced budget.

“The coaches and the players along with their parents have been very supportive and I’m grateful for all their help.

“The new season is nearly upon us and we have a few changes to cope with, but that said, the way forward is positive and we have a fantastic set-up at DFC.”
