Our women’s side take on local rivals Drumchapel tomorrow in a highly anticipated away clash at the Donald Dewar Centre as we look to end a run of three consecutives defeats.
The ladies last outing was a disappointing 7-0 home loss to Cumbernauld United at Mountblow on the opening day of the SWFL Central-West season last week, but despite the unflattering scoreline there were some positives to take from the play which can be translated into a victory tomorrow.
The sides already met in the ScottishPower Regional League Cup group stage earlier this campaign, with the Daughters of the Rock running out 6-0 winners on August 10, with Gemma Russell netting four alongside Gemma Smith and Caitlyn Connelly strikes.
The sides met last season with each encounter being a feisty affair with the teams trading blows. ‘The Drum’ have had some squad upheaval this summer and are now coached by former Benburb Women boss Greig Millar taking over and they will offer something new in comparison to last campaign, however, Gerry Gallacher has taken on Millar before and will be well prepared for his side’s style of play.
