VIEWS STILL WANTED ON RECONSTRUCTION

Wednesday 20th May 2020

DUMBARTON FC invited supporters to submit their views on possible Scottish football league reconstruction on 1st May. That consultation remains open until the end of this month.

Many thanks to those who have sent in comments to media@dumbartonfc.co.uk so far. We are acknowledging all submissions, and will report back on the range of views early next month.

Although, as we reported on 12th May, initial talks ended with insufficient support for any plan to reconfigure the leagues (to the frustration of many within the game), it appears that the question is still open.

It has been reported this week that a further specific proposal may be forthcoming, and that the Scottish Professional Football League chief executive “senses clubs will be open-minded about potential reconstruction and sympathetic to the plight of relegated clubs.”

If the issue comes into discussion among SPFL representatives before the close of our Club consultation, your comments will be noted up to that point. But supporters are reminded that it would be helpful to respond as soon as possible.

You can feed in your views by emailing media@dumbartonfc.co.uk with RECONSTRUCTION as the header. As time for processing is a factor, we would ask respondents to limit their comments to 300 words.
